Jean C. Davis, 92, of Oviedo, Florida and formerly of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Davis. Born in Newark, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Hazel (McGee) Cotterman. She lived in Cumberland before moving to Florida in 2014.

Mom married Charles "Bill" in Newark, Ohio in 1950 and had seven children – Ken and wife Vikki (deceased), Cindi and husband Bobby, Sheila (deceased), Cheryl and husband Dan (deceased), Gary and wife Elizabeth, Brad and wife Beng, Curt and wife Darlene - along with fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her brother, Richard "Dick" Cotterman. She was the sister of the late Donald "Roger" Cotterman, and Keith Cotterman.

Although becoming a widow at the age of 49, Mom remained an active contributing member of the Four Corners Community Chapel in Cumberland for more than 40 years. She was a regular participant in the church member quilting club and several grandchildren were the proud recipients of her work. She was also a regular member of the church Bible Study group and participated in many bazaars, fund raisers and bake sales sponsored by the Chapel.

As a young mother of seven, she managed multiple moves across the country due to her husband's employment relocation. Several moves included moving from Ohio to the West Coast back to Ohio, and finally the East Coast before settling in Cumberland. And somehow, it all worked out. Mom also traveled far and wide to visit her now grown children whether it be Hawaii, California, Florida, Massachusetts. And of course, with deep roots in Ohio, she made many visits "back home" over the years. She also had the opportunity to visit the pyramids of Egypt and the glaciers of Alaska.

Although her family was large, Mom never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was strong, she was independent, she was kind. She raised us, she loved us…now it's her turn to rest.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI 02864. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:00 AM, prior to the Service in the O'Neill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Diamond Hill Cemetery, Cumberland, RI, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Charles.
