Janet Emery

Janet Emery, 69, passed away on June 21, 2026. She was the only child of Edwin and Ruth (Casatello) Emery of Pawtucket.

She attended Meeting Street School in Providence. She enjoyed her affiliation with the Arc of Blackstone Valley from the age of 16. She was always a happy, friendly and enthusiastic person with everyone she met. She loved fun surprises, visitors and friends. She had a terrific sense of humor and laughed every day.

She worked at the Arc Sort Program where she was an early environmentalist who took recyclable materials and separated them. Later in her life she worked at the Daggett Farm Greenhouse. There she was able to be creative by decorating pots and getting her hands dirty!

The other side of Janet was a woman who loved to be in dresses and have her hair done. She would pick out nail polish in her favorite color blue at Nail Noir on Newport Avenue and she made friends with the nail technicians there. She also loved to go on a shopping spree.

Janet was always up for a party with her long-time boyfriend, Tommy and her friends.

She loved to have folks over and celebrate anything by singing karaoke with her beloved housemates and best friends, Barbara, Gale, Melissa and Russell.

She will be truly missed and will live on in our hearts and minds.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service for Janet on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Manning-Heffern-O’Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. 

Her final resting place will be at Springvale Cemetery in Rumford.
