James Edgar Thrasher, 77, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Charlene (Bell) Thrasher. Born in Concord, New Hampshire, James was the son of the late Patricia (Lunn) and James Francis Thrasher. Following his service in the U.S. Army, he worked as a mechanic in the auto body repair industry, where his skill and strong work ethic were deeply valued. 

Above all, James was a family man who cherished the time he spent with those he loved. 

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his son, Brendan Thrasher, and his three stepdaughters, Laura Lopes and her husband Joe, Rhonda McEnaney and her husband Terry, and Jacqueline Fitts and her husband Richard. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren; Keith, Rizani, Sophia, Joshua, Christian, T.J., and Jack, who brought him tremendous pride and joy. He was also the dear brother of Arthur Thrasher and the late Madelin Slocum. James also leaves many nieces and nephews.

James will be remembered for his strength, his love for his family, and the many special memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private.

Visitation will take place prior to the service, on Thursday, August 27th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the O'Neill Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Jim’s favorite Alzheimer’s Team.
