James E. Major Jr., 74, of Manville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Thursday, November 8, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Lemoine) Major. They were happily married for 54 years. Born in Augusta, Maine, he was the son of the late James and Pearl Major. He was a production manager for Vac-Forming Unlimited of Central Falls for 20 years, retiring in 2017. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Deborah Roy, Mark and James Major, his brother, Alan Major, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Michael Major. The funeral will be held Monday, November 12 ^th at 9AM from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Saint James Church, Division Street, Manville. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home.
