Hope T. Hemond of Greenville, R.I. passed into eternal life on August 28, 2025. She was the wife of the late Gerard Hemond and previously, the late Richard R. Trahan, Sr.
Hope was born in Providence in 1934, the daughter of the late William J. and Helen (Langevin) Callahan, Sr. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Wildgoose, her brother William J. Callahan, Jr., and her grandson Taylor Q. Trahan.
She was employed by Landry's Hardware Store for twenty years.
Mrs. Hemond is survived by her children, Hope T. (Dennis) McKiernan, Michael A. Trahan, Nancy A. Devonis, and Richard R. (Lydia) Trahan, Jr., her Brother Paul Callahan, along with her stepchildren, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren, Godchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The Trahan home was always open to their children and friends. Hope taught her children the joy of reading, and was full of love. She and her fellow daughters-in-law of the Trahan brothers called themselves "The Outlaws". Hope was quick with a smile and always ready to help the less fortunate.
At her request, no service will be held. A private scattering of ashes will take place in the future.
