Honor L. (Banks) Maclean, 93, of Duxbury, MA and formerly of Lawrence, NY, passed away peacefully with her family by her side January 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Malcolm Maclean. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Morton M. and Honor (Leeming) Banks. She had lived most of her life in Lawrence, NY and was a graduate of Barnard College. Honor, along with her late husband, were longtime members of the Rockaway Hunting Club, Cedarhurst Yacht Club, Lawrence Beach Club, all of Lawrence, NY and the Manasota Beach Club, of Englewood, Florida where Honor always looked forward to spending time making memories with family and friends.
Upon the passing of her late husband, Honor relocated to Duxbury, MA in 2019 to be closer to her East Coast family. She spent her last years gardening, digging for clams, meeting new friends, and sharing stories over a cup of tea.
She is survived by her son, Putnam Maclean (Marjorie Lowry Maclean), and her daughter, Katrina Larsen (Pieter Larsen). Honor was also the mother of the late Malcolm Maclean Jr., Sarah Whalen (Thomas Whalen Jr.) and Honor Waitkus (Alan Waitkus). She also leaves her grandchildren, Culver O'Neill, Charles Maclean, Geoffrey Waitkus, Shane Waitkus, Thomas Whalen III., and Ian Whalen; and three great-grandchildren.
A private burial will be held in Connecticut.
