Gladys (Daley) Hoey, 95, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was the wife of the late Edward Murray Hoey, who predeceased her in 2011. Born and raised in Old Forge, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Olive (Breig) Daley. Her family later moved to Cranston, RI, where she graduated from Edgewood Junior College with a degree in secretarial sciences. She proudly worked for many years at Amica Mutual Insurance in Providence. Gladys was introduced to Edward Hoey, whom she married in 1958, and together they settled in Cumberland, RI, where they raised their family.

She expressed her love for her family through her cooking, enjoyed volunteering at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, stayed active at the Cumberland Senior Center, and took part in social events at St. John Vianney. She also loved being outdoors, whether tending to her yard, reading, or enjoying a meal on a sunny day. Gladys is lovingly survived by her five children: Katherine Quinlan and her husband, Dave Quinlan, of Mansfield, MA, Marie Ouellette and her husband, Charlie Ouellette, of East Providence, RI, Jane Streicher and her husband, Tom Streicher, of Middletown, RI, Joseph Hoey and his wife, Karen Hoey, of Norton, MA, Robert Hoey and his wife, Vakthou Hoey, of Providence, RI. She also leaves eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Thomas J. Daley.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Saint John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 10th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
