Gina Carmella Longone, of Pawtucket, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, to the late Theresa (Paquette) Longone and Joseph F. Longone, she attended South High School in Worcester and spent summer vacations on Cape Cod as her second home in her early years.

Gina graduated from New England Institute of Technology and worked as a CNA for years before taking an early retirement. Gina was kindhearted, funny and had a unique way of bringing laughter to those she met and loved. She loved to spend time with family, especially her beloved grandson Jacob. Gina enjoyed bicycling, playing michigan-rummy, cards, watching movies, crafting, and going to bingo. She enjoyed studying her family lineage and always strove to learn more about her distant relatives in Italy. She was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She had an extra special love for all animals and adored her dog, Buster, who would never leave her side. Gina was a proud supporter of the ASPCA; she also attended the Susan G. Komen "Race for a Cure" as a proud cancer survivor.

Gina is survived by her daughter Aleece Silva, her beloved grandson Jacob J. Silva, her son Edwin D. Benedict, and his wife Jamie and four siblings: Joseph D. Longone and his wife Suzanne, Daniel Longone, Michael Longone and his wife Annette, Lisa Thibaud and her husband Michael. Gina also had various cousins that she enjoyed connecting with.

A graveside service will be held on August 19, 2022, at 11:00AM at St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA, in the St. Michael's Section of the grounds.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the ASPCA, in Gina's honor would be greatly appreciated.
