Frank E. Wandrey, Jr., 75 of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away at his home on August 25, 2023. He was the son of the late Frank E. and Mary Lucille (Welch) Wandrey. Frank is survived by his five siblings, Mary Mehringer, James, Richard, Robert, and John Wandrey. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He was a US Army Veteran, during which time he attended the Defense Language Institute of Foreign Language Center, Monterey, California where he became fluent in Russian. Frank had worked as a consultant in computer programming at various companies throughout his career. As an avid reader, Frank was constantly challenging himself to expand his knowledge and understanding of matters ranging from Medieval history, calculus and trigonometry, to religion and its history. He was an active member of his wellness and fitness community, where he will be missed. He was a generous and kind friend to many in his neighborhood.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Saturday, October 28th at 10:30 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 28th from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service in the O'Neill Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, in memory of Frank E. Wandrey Jr. would be appreciated.
