Frank V. Costa Sr., 85, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2023, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Orise (Lessard) Costa. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Placido (Frank) and Jennie Costa. Frank was a navy veteran, attaining the rank of Radioman "Second Class". His love for communications continued throughout his life in both work and recreation. He was an avid and talented "Ham Radio" operator in his retirement, often getting up all hours of the day to make contacts across the globe. He ultimately achieved the highest honor which he set out to accomplish, #1 DXCC Honor Roll, having made contact with all countries and entities in the world, an honor held by very few.
Frank spent most of his working career with New England Telephone and AT&T, where he retired as a communications technician. After an early retirement, Frank focused on his favorite things, his "Ham Radio", Red Sox Baseball, his garden of tomatoes, and his loving wife and family. People who knew him always commented on his kind and gentle character. He always had a smile and concern for all who crossed his path. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Joann Weiner and her husband Mark, Patrick Costa and his wife Keri, Lisa Williams and her husband David, David Leduc and his wife Donna, Janice Leduc, Christine Ross, his eleven grandchildren, Ben, Hannah, Samantha, Ashley, Sophia, Isabella, Jonathan, Ian, Jared, Shelly, and Joel. He also leaves four great-grandchildren, Declan, Chandler, Annette, and Skylar Rose, and his sister, Josephine Curzake and her husband John. He also leaves cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was the father of the late Frank Costa Jr.
