Francis Menard, 86, of Attleboro, passed into eternal life on August 18th, 2023 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Laurent and Jean (Gaudette) Menard. Bob was the loving husband to Margaret (Ranalli) Menard. They were happily married for 65 years.
He was a navy veteran serving in the Mediterranean and served also on the honor guard for the wedding of Princess Grace of Monaco. Bob worked for the Pawtucket School District for over 20 years prior to retiring. He also owned and operated Menard's Barber Shop in Pawtucket. Bob was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He received the Mirian Medal from the Bishop of the Fall River Diocese in 2010 and was active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Queen of Martyr's in Seekonk.
Besides his wife Margaret, Bob is survived by his children, Stephen Menard and his wife Nancy of North Attleboro, MA, Elizabeth Murphy and her husband Elliot of Attleboro, MA, Robert Menard and his wife Marianne of Johnston, RI, John Menard and his wife Maria of Cranston, RI, and Mary Gingras and her husband Paul of Seekonk, MA.
He was the brother of Donald Menard, Laurent Menard, Patricia Sanders, and Susan Dunphy. Francis was predeceased by his sister Jackie and brother Armand.
Bob was the grandfather to 12 grandchildren: Stephen II, Kristen, Brandon, Mickayla, Ryan, Amanda, Alyssa, Megan, Sarah, Mackenzie, Stephanie, and John F. He was the great grandfather to Audrey, Evan, Harper, and Amelia. Mr. Menard and his family are expecting three more great grandchildren in the near future.
He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Family and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 23rd, at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Dr, Seekonk, MA. The burial will immediately follow at St. Stephens Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, August 22nd, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket.
