November 9, 1929 – January 30, 2014
Fernand E. Turgeon, 84, of Pawtucket, died Thursday, January 30th, 2014 in Smithfield. He was the loving husband of Celine A. (Landry) Turgeon for 51 years. Mr. Turgeon was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Eugene and Alice (Cournoyer) Turgeon.
After serving his country as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War, Fernand worked for many years for Jostens Jewelers in Attleboro.
Besides his wife, Mr. Turgeon is survived by his sons, Kenneth Turgeon and his girlfriend Patricia Rouleau of Nantucket, MA, Daniel Turgeon and his girlfriend Kerri Martin of Smithfield, Thomas Turgeon of Nantucket, MA, and his daughter, Anne Marie Walsh and her husband James of Nantucket. Fernand also leaves one granddaughter, CherylAnne Turgeon, her boyfriend Scott Santos, and two great grandchildren, Ava and Mason Turgeon, a brother Aime Turgeon and a sister Marguerite Bruno, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Anne Turgeon and his siblings Paul Turgeon and Rita Turgeon.
Mr. Turgeon enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid baseball fan, as he followed both the Boston Red Sox and the former Boston Braves now the Atlanta Braves. He also loved the game of golf.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Turgeon on Wednesday, February 5 at 11:00 AM in St. Teresa''s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. His calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 AM in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home and Hospice of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02903 in Fernand''s memory.
