Esther F. Velarde, 89, of Cumberland and Peru, passed away with her family by her side Monday, November 27, 2023. She was the wife of the late Jacinto Silva.

Born in Peru, she was the daughter of the late Hernan and Zenobia (Vilca) Velarde. Esther traveled back and forth between Rhode Island and Peru to be with her family. She began coming to Rhode Island in 1978.

She is survived by her children, Freddy Silva, Ana Maldonado, and five others. She also leaves Andrew Maldonado, Justin Maldonado, Steven Silva, Nestor Maldonado Jr. and 23 other grandchildren, She also leaves Ariana Maldonado, Gabriella Maldonado, Samual Silva , Andrew Maldonado Jr, Micah Silva, Maela Silva, Baby Maldonado, and many other great-grandchildren, as well as four siblings.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Thursday, November 30th, from 5:30-7:00 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.

The funeral and burial will be private.
