Obituary

Ed (Edward) H. Guardiani, age 75, passed away peacefully from complications due to dementia on December 27th. He was born on June 18, 1950, in Framingham, Massachusetts. Ed graduated from Framingham South High School and was awarded a baseball scholarship to the University of Connecticut (UCONN), where he studied Accounting and Finance. He later earned an MBA from Suffolk University. Throughout his professional career he led Operations for several large retail organizations, including Zayre and Filene's. He took a break from the corporate world to start Metrowest Development Corp, building custom homes for others, while fulfilling a dream of working for himself with family by his side.

Family meant everything to Ed, and with help from his cousin, he met Margaret and they created a life filled with loyalty, laughter, love, and a touch of friendly competition. For 45 years, Ed's most cherished title was Dad, but his favorite title was Pop, given to him by his grandson Dominic.

Ed loved telling stories about "the good old days." No topic was off limits, including house parties, car accidents, asking for "Maggie" instead of "Margaret," or that one run that one day at Bowditch Field or the tackle at the Thanksgiving Day game. He always let you know, someone else had been through it too. Through his stories he reminded us that everyone has their own experiences, emphasized the importance of hard work, doing what's right, and following your passions while respecting others.

Ed leaves behind his devoted wife of 48 years Margaret; daughter, Meghan; son, Teddy (Alison); and his beloved grandson, Dominic Edward. He is also survived by his sisters Elissa (Mitchell Bloom) and Elaina, sisters-in-law Sandy Guardiani, Karen Brodeur, Tancee (Tom Sassi), and Christine (John Mooshian); brothers-in-law Larry Brodeur (Joyce), Mark Brodeur (Regina), and Tom Brodeur (Maureen), along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he was extremely proud. Ed could often be found supporting them from anywhere and everywhere.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and Edward Guardiani; brothers, Peter and Robert; in-laws, Connie and Paul Brodeur; and many other family members and friends.
