Earl Bradford Schofield, born in Pawtucket, RI on September 4, 1934 to the late Elsie (Follett) and Russell Schofield, went to rest with the lord Sunday, January 1, 2023 after a brief illness. He passed away peacefully at home with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Entwistle) Schofield.
After graduating from Cumberland High School, Earl served in the Army honorably for six years, and was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1986 Earl founded and operated the successful Earl B. Schofield Printing Company, in Pawtucket for 16 years before retiring.
Earl was a gift to all who knew him and nothing meant more to him than his family. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
He is immediately survived by his children, Susan Boland, and Heidi Plamondon and her husband Kevin, his grandson, Matthew Boland and his fiancee Jenifer Foss, and his great-grandchildren, Jagger and Savannah Boland. He was also the brother of the late Richard and James Schofield.
He raised many golden retrievers over the years. Judy, Triva, Sadie, Katie and Jennie were some of his best canine friends.
He was an avid owner and collector of antique automobiles. He won numerous first place awards for his impeccable vehicles and was extremely meticulous in the care of them. Earl always had a passion for working with his hands and always had a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. Over the years, he built many model schoolhouses, gas stations, country stores, doll houses, and gazebos all to exact features. Earl was also an avid Patriots fan.
Earl lived his life to the absolute fullest bringing endless laughter to his family and friends. Earl put countless smiles on people's faces and left so many with their own special "Earl story". His legacy will live on as stories are told and retold for years to come by all who loved him.
Earl lived out his life surrounded by family who he loved.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Monday, January 9th at 12:00 PM, noon in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow in Diamond Hill Cemetery, Cumberland. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, prior to the Funeral Service in the O'Neill Funeral Home.
