Dorothy "Betty" E. Mallon, 96, of Rumford, passed away on January 21, 2025.  She was the devoted wife of the late William Mallon Sr. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Walter V. and Dorothy E. (Doran) Quinn.

She worked in Food Service for the State of Rhode Island School Lunch Program for 16 years prior to retiring in 1988. She started at Potter-Burns Elementary School as a RI State Lunch Lady then transferred to the National School Lunch Program stationed at Cunningham Elementary School.  She then came out of retirement to work for The Foster Grandparent Program where she was a teacher assistant at Myron J. Francis Elementary School in Rumford for over 15 years retiring at 90 years old.

Dorothy is survived by her children William Mallon Jr. and his wife Mary, Michael Mallon Sr. and his wife Kim, and Barbara Larivee. She was the sister of the late Francis Quinn. She was the grandmother to 9 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 28th at 10:00 AM in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Visiting hours will be Monday, January 27th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the Manning-Heffern-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., Pawtucket.
