Donald R. Vien

Donald R. Vien, 65, of Woonsocket, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born in Woonsocket, Donald was the son of the late Robert and Mariette (Jacques) Vien. He worked as a skilled tradesman in the contractor construction industry for many years.

Donald is survived by his siblings Diane Vien, Andre Vien, and the late Ronald Vien. He is also survived by his niece Mariette and his nephew Andre. 

Known affectionately by nickname Dobie, he will always be remembered for his love of football, hockey, and baseball having played in little leagues growing up. Another love was music, crossing many genres which in the eyes of his niece and nephew made him the hip one in the family. Skilled card playing and puzzle marathons can be added to the list of laughter and great times. 

Most important of all was his love for family and years long circle of close friends.

The Funeral Services and Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald’s memory to Cancer Research Institute or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
