Dianne Marie Sequeira, 74, passed peacefully on June 30th. The daughter of Manuel and Irene Fredette Sequeira, she was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket. After being stricken with polio at the age of five, she went on to face many challenges in her life with courage and determination.
Dianne, a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph's College, went on to earn her Masters' Degree in Education from Providence College as she began her teaching career in the Pawtucket School System where she taught for thirty years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she was an avid sports' fan following numerous teams, especially her beloved PC Friars and the Celtics.
Dianne was predeceased by her brothers, Donald P. Sequeira and Manuel Sequeira. She is survived by a niece, Tammy Ann Marrow and her husband, Dr. Earl Randolph Marrow, III, and their children, Earl Randolph Marrow IV, and Sarah Mackenzie Marrow, all of North Attleboro, MA. She also leaves a cousin, Patricia Marcotte, of Lincoln, several other cousins, and many dear friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 16th beginning with calling hours 8:30-9:30 at the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St. Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in the Holy Family Church, 195 Walcott St., Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name, to the Holy Family Parish Soup Kitchen / Food Pantry , 195 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 or Hope Hospice , 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
