David John Frechette (63) of Punta Gorda FL, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Providence and raised in Pawtucket, he was the beloved son of the late Oscar and Ruth Frechette. He graduated from Saint Raphael Academy in 1979 and went on to earn an Accounting degree from Bryant College. He enjoyed a long career focused in accounting and financial systems, most notably at the Providence Journal and FM Global. He was a member of the Elk's 104 Lodge in Newport.
Dave was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins. He loved playing baseball from a young age and later developed a passion for coaching little league baseball. He loved the beach and being by the ocean with his wife, spending many recent summers in Newport & Middletown RI with friends and family where it was always "The Summer of Dave".
Dave is survived by his wife Sharon (Briggs) Frechette of Punta Gorda, FL; his children Andrew Frechette and his partner Erin Norton of Charlotte, NC, Scott Frechette and his wife Amanda of Plainville, MA, and Sarah Frechette and her fiancé James Kern of South Kingstown, along with their mother Diane Frechette of Cumberland; step-daughter Laura Askew of Fall River, MA; grandson Callen Frechette; as well as step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren: Janessa Perez and her wife Leah, the late Jenelle Eaton, Leigha Eaton, Azaiah Perez, and Arcaius Perez. Dave is also survived by his siblings Beth Kulaga of Cumberland, Paul Frechette and his wife Gail of Jamestown, Judy McDuff and her husband Fred of Warwick, and Anne Frechette of Providence. He also is survived by his niece and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM in the Manning-Heffern-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St. Pawtucket, followed by a short service in the Funeral Home.
