Claudette M. DeLong, 88, of Providence, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Richard DeLong. Born in Presque Isle, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Eva (McKenney) Shields. Claudette worked as a social worker for the Head Start Program for many years before retiring.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Carol Letendre and her husband Robert, two grandchildren, Ben Claflin and Eric Claflin and his wife Pamela Larsen. She also leaves a great-granddaughter, Madeline Claflin, a brother, Arthur L. Shields., and her daughter-in-law Carolyn DeLong. Her son, Peter DeLong, predeceased her.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday December 18th at 11:00 AM in Saint John the Baptist Church, 60 Quincy Ave., Pawtucket. The burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
