It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Christin A. Lynch, 57, of Rumford, who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 8th, 2024. Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of Dorothy (Danis) Peckham and the late William Peckham. Christin was raised in Barrington and has lived in Rumford for the last 28 years.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her loving children, Kelsy Lynch and Graham Lynch; her true love, William Gaudet and his daughter Abby Kemble; her brother Mark Peckham and his wife Stephanie; and her sister, Sandra Marcks and her husband, Richard. She also leaves her brother-in-law, David Catanzaro, and many nieces and nephews who greatly adored her. She was the loving sister of the late Susan Catanzaro.
Through lifelong health battles, Christin was determined to be the most present and dedicated mother, daughter, and friend. Nothing on earth mattered more to Christin than her two children, whom she loved and cherished more than anything. Being Kelsy and Graham's mother was the biggest honor of her life and her most important legacy.
Christin was a striking beauty, but her true radiance came from her magnetic personality and unmatched sense of humor. She was the funniest person in every room she entered; her brilliant wit was contagious. She was, without a doubt, the life of the party; everyone gravitated towards her because it was impossible not to. She made the most mundane moments fun and had the best laugh in the world.
Those who knew Christin well will never forget her deep love of music. She would turn the most simple sentences into songs with a Broadway quality that could silence a room. Christin will always be remembered for her endless love of U2 and Bono, whom she never missed an opportunity to see live. She passed this love down to her children, in addition to her passion for sports. Christin was a talented athlete whose love of basketball was known to all. Christin was a fixture in the basketball community through playing, coaching, and supporting her children. The sport meant so much to her and brought her a lifetime of joy.
Her border collies, Maggie and Whinnie, worshipped the ground she walked on. They never left her side and brought her endless happiness and companionship. Christin loved her home, but close friends knew her backyard, "The Linden Lounge," was her sanctuary. She had a knack for transforming things and creating the most beautiful and cozy spaces. Christin was the ultimate collector; she loved antiquing passionately and had the most impressive Barbie collection of anyone.
Christin was the leader of our family; she took impeccable care of her mother and dedicated her life to her loved ones. Her siblings, Mark and Sandy, meant the world to her, and she focused so much time and energy on nurturing those relationships. Her untimely death will leave an unbearable void in their lives. It would be unfair not to mention her loving partner, Bill, and lifelong best friends, who have been left absolutely heartbroken by her passing.
There aren't enough words to convey how deeply and infinitely loved Christin was and still is. She was the brightest light ever, and those who loved her will never forget her impact. Christin, we love you more than anything, always and forever.
