Charles Vincent Simek, 81, of Riverside, passed away on September 26, 2023. Born in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Fredenand C. and Theresa (Auntmann) Simek. He was the husband of the late Joyce Celia Simek.

Charles served his country honorably during the Vietnam era. He enlisted in the US Navy Seabees in November 1964, and was assigned to the Naval Seabee Center in Davisville, RI as a Builder second class. He served as an instructor in the Wood Working shop for 2 years and attained the rank of Builder First Class. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He was qualified for the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Charles worked as a skilled Cabinet Maker in woodworking and carpentry for many years prior to retiring.

He is survived by his children; Charles V. Simek, Jr, Tracey Devine, and Diane M. Sullivan. Charles was the grandfather to Amy Lynn Devine, Megan Devine, Sybella Simek, Summer Simek, and Robert Sullivan, Jr.

He was also survived by daughters Sharon Rarick, Charlene Haverly, and Debbie Trottier. He was the grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a committal service with military honors on Monday, October 2nd at 2:00 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, RI.
