Obituary

Cecile Therese LeBlanc, 95, of Pawtucket, passed away November 25, 2023. She was the former financial secretary for the Pawtucket Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce (now Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce), retiring in 1992 after forty years of employment and titled "Chamber's First Lady". A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was the only child of Achil A. and Anita (Ratte') LeBlanc.

Miss LeBlanc graduated from St. Jean the Baptiste Academy, class of 1946. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, cook, shop, and had an extensive collection of angels, tigers, cheetahs, ocelot and lion statuettes. She had been a longtime member of the Professional Secretaries Association (International), serving on International Committees, President of the RI Division and President of the Pawtucket Chapter. In 1971 she was honored as "Secretary of the Year". She also served as Delegate and Alternate to many conferences and meetings. In 1961 she won the title of "Queen of Pawtucket Diamond Jubilee and along with her court presided over a week of festivities. She was a communicant and longtime member of the former St. Leo The Great Church. She served on the Parish Council, was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of St. Matthew's Guild. She accepted a key leadership position in the Vision of Hope Campaign and many other committees and functions. She was a past treasurer and board member of the Pawtucket Hall of Fame.

She leaves no survivors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 1st at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI, 02860, in memory of Cecile, would be greatly appreciated.
