Carl V. Pergola, 82, of North Smithfield, previously Cumberland, RI passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved husband of Frances (Donovan) Pergola who shared 55 years of loving marriage. He was the devoted father to Susan Clark and her fiancé Peter McAnespie of Littleton, MA, and Mike Pergola and his wife Fran Pergola of Boston, MA. Cherished Papa to Robert, McKenzie, Riley and Matthew Clark and Gianna, Ella and Mia Pergola. Loving brother to Diane Pergola, Maryanne Barrick, and her late husband Walter Barrick; sister-in-law Margaret Pergola and the late David Pergola.

Following his birth in Reading, PA, he moved to Waltham, MA and became an official Bostonian. After graduating from Waltham High, where he was a standout in hockey and football, he attended Boston College (BS), Northeastern University (MBA) and Bryant College (MS in Taxation). A lifelong CPA, he worked over 30 years at A.T. Cross before retiring and joining Auerr, Zajac and Associates as a tax consultant. Outside of work he ran 4 marathons, countless Falmouth Road Races, enjoyed golf and travel. He was a devout Boston sports fan, especially for his Alma Mater, Boston College. His greatest pleasure was his family, spending countless hours at rinks, pools and fields cheering for his children and grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 12th at 11:00 AM in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Visiting hours on Friday from 9:00-10:30 AM, prior to the Mass, in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. The burial will be private at a later date.
