Bernardina Carvalho Pires

Bernardina Carvalho Pires, 68, of Boston passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Born in Sao Vicente, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Maria da Luz Sousa Lima and Albertino Carvalho.

Bernardina was the loving mother of Stefan Alexander Pires, who passed before her, and her surviving sons, Christopher Carvalho Resendes, Kevin Carvalho, Otaniel Carvalho Goncalves, Jerry Chadwick (Carvalho) Rocha, and Frank Carvalho Rocha. She leaves behind her grandchildren Skyla Alexander Pires, Imani Shailyn Goncalves, Zariyah Lee Goncalves, Alexander Stefan Carvalho, Dakari Kevin Carvalho, Emmett Sterling Gray, and Syhkai Rocha. Bernardina also leaves behind her beloved sister and only sibling, Lisa Da Cruz, with whom she shared a lifelong and deeply cherished bond, along with many other relatives and friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.

Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family and ensuring that those she loved were always supported, comforted, and encouraged.
