Barbara J. Zito, 81, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Friday, June 3, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Zito. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late William Frechette and Juliette (Hauser) Pappas. She was the stepdaughter of John Pappas.

Barbara managed the gift shop at the former Memorial Hospital of Pawtucket for 23 years and the treasurer of Animals in Distress. She was a member of Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Gretchen Williams and her husband Daniel, and John Gilkenson and his wife Heidi. She also leaves nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, June 14 ^th from 4-7 PM in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. The funeral and burial will be private.
