Barbara A. Shanks

Barbara A. Shanks, 83, of Blackstone, MA, formerly of Attleboro and Plainville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Theodore D. Shanks Jr. for 60 years. Born May 7, 1942 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore R. and Florence G. (Burton) Winters of Norwood and West Roxbury, MA.

Barbara worked at the Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank prior to retirement. She will be remembered for her love for her family, her sense of humor and her creative flair to make all things beautiful especially with flowers.

She was the devoted mother to her children: Darlene Hanley (Stephen), Robert Shanks (Theresa), Donna Shanks, Kimberly Shanks, Cheryl Fahey (Ryan), and Lori Marguerite (Louis). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jared Hanley, Jessica Hanley, Joelle Hanley, Derek Shanks, Thomas Shanks, Matthew Marguerite, and Daniel Marguerite; a great-grandson, Ian Shanks; and her brother, Theodore Winters and many cousins.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Kevin Shanks.
