Barbara A. Rowe, 75, of Providence, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Columbus and Mary (James) Cardarelli, and the true and life long companion of Forrest A. Hawkins, RN.

Barbara was a graduate of CCRI and Rhode Island College School of Nursing. She practiced at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket for many years, and also worked in the field of home care, but it was her time spent as a cardiac nurse that made her the most proud.

Barbara was a kind and generous mother and grandmother, a thoughtful, loyal, and caring friend, and an exemplary nurse, a role she truly loved with her whole heart. She was able to recall an extraordinary number of former patients and spoke of them frequently with fervor. Barbara displayed a valiant work ethic and fulfilled her professional duties with tenacity and vigor. Her generosity knew no bounds. She was consistently available for any friend in need, lending an empathetic ear without judgement nor reservation.

Barbara had a deep and abiding love for Forrest. They were an integral part of each other's lives for many years, creating a support system based on mutual love, respect, and admiration. They also shared a passion for nursing, a love for animals, especially their beloved dogs, and a zest for life. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to Forrest, Barbara is survived by her son, Robert Rowe, of Florida, and her grandchildren Robert Rowe, Jr., Tarin Rowe, and Salene Freeman.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 8th at 12PM Noon, in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, February 8 ^th from 10:00AM - 12:00PM, prior to the service in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home.
