Arnold J. Battersby, age 77, of Rumford, passed into eternal life on August 23, 2024. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Regan) Battersby. Mr. Battersby was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Arthur Battersby and Jeannette (Bechard) Battersby.

He worked for 30 years at the Pawtucket Post Office, where his laughter echoed throughout the building, as well as at every family gathering, and with every fish he caught on Stafford Pond or on the water's edge in Bradenton, Florida.

Besides his wife Meg, Arnie leaves his daughter Kim Battersby, son Mark Battersby and his wife Rakshya Khatri Battersby, as well as his treasured granddaughter Helen. Predeceased by his three brothers and three sisters, he is survived by his caring in-laws Shirley Battersby, John and Maureen Orabone, John and Mary Beckett and so many thoughtful nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 28th at 10:00 AM in the Manning-Heffern-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. His burial will be with full Military Honors in Mt. St. Mary's cemetery, Pawtucket.
