Armanda Andrade, 99, of Pawtucket RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mindelo, Cape Verde on September 23, 1923, where she lived until migrating to the US in 1982. She was the youngest of eleven siblings of the late Antonio and Maria (Ramos) Andrade, and the last to be called to heaven.

She is survived by her children, Fernanda Bell and John Delgado, who combined, gave her eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. While in Cape Verde, Armanda was a seamstress and was well-known for making costumes for the annual Carnival Parade in the island of Sao Vicente. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing, telling stories of her humble beginnings, and talking on the phone with her friends and family from around the globe. However, nothing was more meaningful, and gave her more pleasure, than helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she babysat for many years. As they got older, nothing quite put a smile on her face, like being visited by them. They always left with a grin on their faces, with their pockets filled with chocolate and money she quietly slipped in when the parents weren't looking.

She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She touched the lives many people. She will truly be missed and will never be forgotten. We are grateful and blessed for the love and support we received from our loved ones during her last couple of weeks. Also a heartfelt thank you to the Summit Rehabilitation Nursing Home staff, for their care during her stay.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Visiting Hours on Friday, January 27th, in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., Pawtucket, from 4:00-7:00PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 28th at 10:30 AM, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground Cemetery in Providence. A short graveside ceremony will be held, followed by a reception at the Riviera restaurant in East Providence.
