Obituary

VECOLI, ALFRED M. Sr. entered into eternal life on January 6, 2022 at his&home in Pawtucket, RI surrounded by family. Alfred had a long and happylife filled with family and friends. Born on March 23, 1928, in Pawtucket,RI, to Guido and Maria (Coppede) Vecoli.


He is survived by his brotherMarco Vecoli and sister Emma (Vecoli) Miniati, both residents ofPawtucket, RI. He was pre-deceased by Silvio Vecoli, Lena (Vecoli) Poirier,Guido (Vic) Vecoli, Albert Vecoli, Emma Vecoli, and Charles Alfred Vecoli.Alfred, "Nonno" was married for sixty-three years to Jeannette (Demers)Vecoli, "Nonni" until her passing (2011). Alfred is survived by his eightchildren: Alfred M. Vecoli Jr. of Brooksville, FL; Ann-Marie and JackCardosi of Seekonk, MA; Janet and Paul Barrett of East Haddam, CT; LindaVecoli and William Martin of NorthSmithfield, RI; Charles and June Vecoliof Inlet Beach, FL; Tina Vecoli of Pawtucket RI; John J. and Brenda Vecoliof Bristol, RI; Christopher Jude Vecoli of Brooksville, FL.


Nonno issurvived by fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren whocalled him "Primo". Alfred has many nieces and nephews who not onlycalled him "Uncle Al", but "friend" as well. He was a caring andcompassionate friend and neighbor to old and young.


Alfred has lived most of his life on Cute Street having been born in hisparent's home across the street from his own. He was a life-longparishioner of St. Teresa's Parish in Pawtucket, RI, and a faithful supporterof the parish and St. Teresa School.Alfred enjoyed spending summers at the family summer homes in Warren,RI on the Kickemuit River since he was a child. He was a member of theIDIP Club on Memorial Drive in Pawtucket where he held various officerroles including President and Trustee. He supported scouting and servedas the Committee Chair of Troop 25 Pawtucket. He enjoyed travelingdomestically and internationally. He especially enjoyed visiting relatives
and friends at his ancestral home in Pietrasanta, Italy.


Alfred was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from TexasInstruments in Attleboro, MA after twenty-seven years of employment.Before joining TI, he held numerous jobs in the textile industry in theRhode Island and Massachusetts area. During his retirement, he ownedand managed rental properties in Pawtucket, RI.


The funeral for Mr. Vecoli will be Wednesday, January 12, at 9:00 a.m. fromthe MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI.There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be in Mt. St.Mary's Cemetery. His calling hours will be Tuesday, January 11, 4 to 7 p.m.in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Teresa's School, 358Newport Ave, Pawtucket RI 02861, or HopeHealth, 1085 North Main Street,
Providence RI 02904.The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Karen Woolfall-Quinnof the Providence VA Medical Center for her care and support of Alfredover the years. They also wish to thank HopeHealth and Fr. JosephPaquette, Pastor Emeritus of St. Teresa's parish for their support andkindness.
