Obituary

Alfred A. Lussier, of Cumberland, 92, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband to the late Therese (Plasse) to which he had been married for 71 years. Son of Amos and Laurette (Lachance) Lussier on 7/25/1932.

Al served his country as a Staff Sgt. in the USAF from 1952-1956. Al worked at various auto sales companies until he and his wife Terry started their own business, E-Z Dumper Sales in 1973 and they retired in 1998. He enjoyed camping and traveling as well as family get-togethers, storytelling, as well as his border collie Leddy. Al was a Special for the Cumberland Police Dept. for many years and also a member of the Cumberland FOPA. Al and Terry spent many years associated with Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. Woonsocket chapter.

He leaves behind his five sons: David, Jean (Adele), Joel, Gary (Beth), and Wayne, and four daughters Debra, Janice (Morris), Donna (Lucien), and Lori (Kevin). He also leaves 21 grandchildren: Jamie, Corey, Christy, Angela, Cassie, Quentin, lan, Rebecca, Danielle, Joshua, Cory, Gabrielle, Cody, Sadie, Dakota, Cassandra, Mackenzie, Hunter, Kyle, Tyler and Alexandra. He also leaves 20 great grandchildren: Dante, Brayden, Conor, Ashley, Isabella, Kelcy, Madison, Dylan, Guilianna, Kammy, Diem, Julian, William, Mia, Easton, Emelia, Grayson, Owen, William and Bennett. He is predeceased by his: son in-laws Paul and Vincent and his daughter in-laws: Cher, Tina and Jacqui. Also his sisters: Lucille Pelletier (Felix), Rita Marcotte (Marcel), and Claire Drolet (Lionel).

Special thanks to his many caretakers, especially Sabryna and the staff at Philip Hulitar Center in Providence.

The obituary will read 1932-2025. The year he entered the world, and the year he left. What's more valuable is that little line, the dash, that represents the 92 years of his life, and a damn good life. A family man who had 9 kids, started a business, served his country, had 21 grandkids, and was living to see those grandkids have 20 great grandkids. A man who remained sharp until his final days, who loved his late wife with all of his being, so much so that he couldn't bear to live a full year without her by his side.

So here we are, while he was married to his soulmate for 70 years, he now gets to rest with her for eternity, and we are left with the memories of all the years he gave us. Memories we are so thankful to cherish, and while the dash itself may be short, the years it represents will be cherished for a long time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, at 5:00 PM in the Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket, RI.
